Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
RCIA instruction takes place each year, in small group or individual sessions, with initiation into the Catholic Faith taking place during the Easter Vigil Mass.
Who is RCIA for?
- The unbaptized: The primary focus of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is on those who are not already Christian and have not been catechized.
- Baptized but uncatechized: Those who have been baptized either as Catholics or as members of another Christian community, such as Baptist, Methodist, or Lutheran. These individuals may not have received complete religious formation or instruction, and they may or may not have celebrated Confirmation or Eucharist.
- Those seeking full Catholic Communion: These are baptized, practicing Christians from other denominations, who seek entry into the Catholic Church.
For more information, read our Frequenty Asked Questions.
RCIA includes the celebration of the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Eucharist as well as all the rites of the catechumenate. The initiation of adults is a gradual process that takes place within the community of the faithful. Together with the catechumens, the faithful reflect upon the value of the paschal mystery, renew their own conversion, and by their example lead the catechumens to obey the Holy Spirit more generously.

Safe Environment Training: 2020-2021
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR TRAINING
Sessions are offered several times a year at Blessed Trinity and St. John Evangelist. Dates are announced as soon as they are available.
If you need to attend training before our next parish sessions are scheduled, please visit the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Safeguarding Website at https://www.archmil.org/offices/safeguarding.htm. You will be able to browse for sessions offered at other parishes. When you find a session that works in your schedule, register on the Archdiocese's site. When you register, you will be asked to create a CMG (Catholic Mutual Group) account and a background check will be run.
